• Historical Milestone: In 1922, production was so concentrated that the Marrickville Margarine Company purchased the entire regional crop in a single buy.
• Industry Growth: The Peanut Marketing Board (now the Peanut Company of Australia) was headquartered in Kingaroy in 1924, helping production climb to 814 tonnes by 1930.
• Production Records: While Australia now produces a steady 40,000 to 45,000 tonnes annually, a staggering national record of 61,464 tonnes was set in 1979.
